About LEVEE
What LEVEE is
LEVEE is a free, educational and interactive platform for understanding flood behaviour, risk and planning in NSW. It brings mapping and plain explanations together so a property owner can see what is known about flood risk at a place, without needing to read a technical report.
The name stands for Level, Extent, Velocity, Exposure, Events. Those are the five things that matter about a flood, and they shape everything the platform shows.
Why it exists
Flood information in NSW is fragmented. It sits across dozens of council studies, in formats that are hard to find and harder to read. An owner who simply wants to know whether a property floods, and how badly, often cannot get a clear answer. LEVEE gathers that information into one consistent map and explains it in everyday language.
Who is behind it
LEVEE is built and operated by Perennial Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd, chartered flood and stormwater specialists based in Sydney. The platform is a public, not-for-fee complement to the firm's professional work.
